What is HD?
HD stands for High Definition and is a new standard in high-resolution pictures that give crystal clear and amazing televison experiences. The picture quality of HD sharp, intensely colorful and above all, very clear.
There are 3 different HD resolutions, 720p, 1080i and 1080p
720p
A resolution of 1280x720. This is the lower end of HD compatible resolutions.
1080i
A resolution of 1980x1080. This is an interlaced format.
1080p
A resolution of 1980x1080. Although offering the same resolution as 1080i, 1080p uses progressive scan which gives it a much smoother image.
